A former aggregate quarry, mostly blasted to oblivion, however there are one or two boulders and small walls that have avoided the charges and these offer up some good challenges on varying quality granite. Take extreme care when exploring as much of this quarry is unstable.


Head north from Brae on the A970 for about 1 mile until you reach Mavis Grind, which is clearly signposted. The two tiered quarry is clearly visible in the hillside. Park near the gate making sure the access is not blocked. Through the gate the track leads to the lower and upper tiers.
