The short story of a new crag

Slater’s Cave

This small cave of volcanic rock has a number of good problems and is generally steep with large positive holds. It stays dry most of the time with the exception of prolonged rainfall or strong southerly gales when sea spray and damp is a problem. Holds are often sharp and mats are required.

Park at the Eshaness Lighthouse car park and walk south passing Gerdie Loch, aiming for the low lying cliff and reef system towards the Isle of Stenness. The cave is on the south-eastern tip of this rugged piece of coastline, above a narrow east-west inlet.

Sorry but you need to be logged in to the site to see routes and problems at crags. Of course it costs nothing to register and you’ll be able to see all! Thanks.
