The short story of a new crag

Lang Head

South of Lang Head are a number of walls that have been climbed near Stivva Stack. The nature of rock varies considerably with some fine looking lines identified at sea level only to be capped by loose rock.

Park at HU305731 and approach as for Nibon. Just South of Lang Head a wee lochan drains almost due West. To the south of this there are two sea inlets with a ridge of rock running between. The first two routes are on the south side of this ridge (HU303704) and can be reached by scrambling down seawards and abseiling down to a ledge system at sea level below a chimney/crack topped by an excellent, black, open corner/slab. It is possible to belay in a wee bay below the black corner if a big sea is running.

Sorry but you need to be logged in to the site to see routes and problems at crags. Of course it costs nothing to register and you’ll be able to see all! Thanks.
