Description

This small headland has a complex layout with walls of sound, compact and sometimes very rough rock. The first recorded climbs were in the 1980’s, with climbers attracted by the excellent and unique rock. The crag then saw a great deal of interest recently and many new lines have been put up. There are a good range of routes at all grades and still many unclimbed lines. Micro nuts and cams are very handy here.

Access

In Eshaness, take the Leascole road. Before the cattle grid, turn left down a rough track. Ignore the sign on the gate and continue through, parking next to the disused hatchery at the end.

Walk around the loch and then towards the obvious tower that marks the Grind. Scramble over the boulder beach created by years of Winter storms and the crag opens up before you.
